Maharashtra Engineering Admission Timeline

A step-by-step breakdown of the typical MHT-CET admission process based on previous years' schedules. Know exactly what comes next.

April - May

MHT-CET Examination

Students appear for the MHT-CET entrance examination. This is the foundational step for engineering admissions in Maharashtra.

June

Results Declaration

The CET Cell officially declares the MHT-CET results. You will receive your exact percentile and scorecard.

Late June - Early July

Online Registration & Document Verification

Registration opens on the official portal. Students must fill out their application and physically or e-scrutinize their documents at Facilitation Centers (FC).

Mid July

Provisional Merit List

The provisional state and category-wise merit numbers are published. Students get a 2-3 day window to raise grievances if there are any discrepancies in their data.

Late July

Final Merit List & Seat Matrix

The definitive Final Merit List is released alongside the Seat Matrix (which details exactly how many seats are available in each college per category).

August

CAP Round 1

Students submit their Option Form (college preferences). The allotment is released. If allotted your 1st preference, you must freeze and report to the college. Otherwise, you can opt for betterment.

August - September

CAP Round 2 & 3

Subsequent rounds for students seeking betterment or those who were not allotted seats in Round 1. New option forms can be submitted for each round.

September

Institute Level (Spot) Rounds

After all CAP rounds, any vacant seats are surrendered to the respective colleges. Colleges conduct their own spot rounds at the institute level to fill these seats.
